The FUSHA / Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)
If your goal is to study Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) at the best Arabic Language institute in Amman, AlBaher Arabic Language Center is your best place. Modern Standard Arabic is rooted in Classical Arabic. Classical Arabic is also the language of the Qur’an as well as the language of all Arab historic and religious texts.
Modern Standard Arabic is the primary form of the Arabic language that is spoken and studied today. It can be written and spoken and there is no difference between the written and the spoken form. In its written form, MSA is the language of literature and media (books, newspapers, street signs, shops signs etc.)
The spoken form is the language used on television, in the government and parliament and on official occasions (conferences, seminars etc.) When someone is learning Arabic, they are learning Modern Standard Arabic. While there are many dialects of Arabic that are spoken throughout the Middle East and Africa, Modern Standard Arabic is the foundational language upon which each dialect is based.
If one lives in the Middle East, Horn of Africa, or North Africa (or is planning on visiting, relocating, conducting business, etc.) Modern Standard Arabic would be the language of choice.
Even if you are studying a regional dialect, it will serve you well to learn as much Modern Standard Arabic as possible. If nothing else, it will assist in traveling and meeting new people. Even among Arabic-speaking people, Modern Standard Arabic is what unites speakers of various dialects.
Our FUSHA / MSA program is suitable for students who are interested to learn FUSHA / MSA regardless their levels. For the MSA program, we depend on the two main curriculums: Silsilat Allisaan Series and “Al Kitaab Fi Ta’allum Al Arabiya” by Georgetown University Press.
